About Us at Merrilyn's Hair Design
Merrilyn's Hair Design was founded by Merrilyn in 2013. With more than 20 years experience, we specialise our work with TIGI—no more brassy blondes, less colour fading, longer lasting shine and gloss.

We are proud to say that it is our goal here to provide and ensure an experience for each of our clients, that is welcoming as soon as they step foot in the door. With such a dynamic environment, Merrilyn has established a friendly salon with a cheerful, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere suitable for every client.

It is important to us that each of our clients allows their individuality to shine. We know that not everyone is the same, and neither should everyone's hair. This allows us to offer, encourage and perform to each of our clients desires.

As a team we are all constantly staying up to date and being trained in the latest techniques to ensure our clients achieve the current, trendy look. Additionally we have extensive experience in chemical straightening and keratin smoothing for results that last.

Merrilyn's passion for hairdressing is driven by her goal to ensure each of her clients leaves the salon smiling and feeling the best version of themselves.
Her cheerful and humorous demeanour allows every individual to leave the salon feeling thoroughly satisfied with the entire service.
Merrilyn has over 20 years of experience, from various places both around Australia and overseas.
Her hairdressing journey first began in Melbourne where she completed her apprenticeship, while successfully achieving Apprentice of the year at Boxhill College and TAFE, and runner-up for the State of Victoria in all trades.
Merrilyn's career has given her a variety of roles and experiences over the years, including working as area managers, colour technicians and a trainer for other apprentices.
Having the opportunity to work for a variety of companies, has allowed Merrilyn to expand her knowledge in every area, and therefore can give her clients the best service suitable to them.

Zoe's hairdressing is influenced and driven by her creativity and the ability to create 'artwork' and 'masterpieces' with each and every client.
Her motivation blossoms from the ability to create wonderful transformations, in the desire to please each client and help them achieve a look, style and feeling they are wishing to create for themselves.
Zoe's passion for hairdressing really began in 2015 when she decided to make the most of her spare classes in year 11 and 12 VCE, by completing her Certificate 2 through the VET course at the University of Ballarat in Horsham Victoria.
Shortly after achieving her VCE and Certificate 2 in Hairdressing, she made the big move from her hometown in Victoria to Cairns Queensland where she is currently completing her apprenticeship at Merrilyn's Hair Design.
Zoe's determination to learn, powers her inspiration and ability to best achieve what each client desires.
